A Personal Message from Connie
I am grateful for the lifetools I have
learned, personally and professionally, that have
enabled me to re-invent
myself, four distinct times, and to increasingly
deepen my joy and satisfaction, regardless of stressful
circumstances.
My
first career was in education, although I truly had no idea what I really
wanted to “be”, so
I settled for teaching. As often happens in life,
that experience prepared me for the next: an exciting,
successful
career as a sales executive in educational publishing.
I loved the travel, the adventure and the rewards
of being a top producer my first year. I also learned
lots of lessons about assertiveness, the glass ceiling, and
burnout.
When I was laid off because my division was dissolved,
I learned the power of creating a benefit from adversity.
I took a sabbatical, enrolled in classes and workshops,
explored spiritual practices, sought the help of
mentors and returned to school at 40. I earned a
master’s
degree in counseling psychology and became a licensed
psychotherapist. My private practice and years of leading
women’s groups and retreats have been deeply
fulfilling.
What I know for sure is that, when an inner calling
arises, good things happen as we trust and follow
the call. I was called to create JoyWorks, to come
out of my office and to widely share the powerful
tools that have been helping women for years in my
therapy practice, coaching and retreats. It’s
been a deeply fulfilling journey! As
we overcome the fear of new beginnings and offer our
gifts to the world, everyone wins! I hope I can be
of support and encouragement to you on your unique
path.
